Del-York International is a media and marketing communications company that is striving to change both the makeup and perception of the Nigerian film industry.

Despite being the world's second largest filmmaking superpower, throughout the rest of the world, the thousands of Nigerian films produced every year are rarely seen and sadly, Nigeria's founding fathers of cinema, from Hubert Ogunde to Eddie gbomah to Adejumo Olaiya, remain largely unknown.

In the spirit of these great movie production pioneers, it is our desire here at Del-York to usher in a new golden era of Nigerian film, where art and inspiration walk hand-in-hand, where success is measured not only at the box office, but through global acclaim and viability, and where the passionate filmmakers of today can build upon the exemplary work of those who came before.

Around the globe, Africa is seen as a continent filled with countries torn apart by civil war. Where many of its people are impoverished. Where political upheaval, corruption and disease run rampant.

We are about changing these perceptions through motion pictures that evoke inspiration and reach towards a loftier purpose aside from simple entertainment. From shock films with images so unforgettable they compel change to documentaries accurately detailing the rich Nigerian culture to television commercials that draw from both, these are the types of projects in which we will invest time, money and resources to create.

We understand that there is a long road ahead until all of our goals are realized exemplified in the words of an ancient Chinese proverb: "A journey of a thousand miles begins by taking the initial step."

Our first step has been monumental in scope. We have partnered with the New York Film Academy, the world's premiere film school, and will be facilitating their journey across the Atlantic Ocean to land upon Nigerian shores, the first venture of its kind in the history of Africa.

We strongly believe that the darkest part of Nigeria is its ignorance, but that the country has a very strong message to send out to the world and a large body of people who have the will and talent to get that message out there. All Nigeria lacks is the requisite skills and proper training.

With the expert guidance and teaching of NYFA and by gathering together minds that share one vision, we here at Del-York truly believe that we will be able to produce movies that speak well of the Nigerian experience and along the way surpass all that we have set out to accomplish.
