Del-York International was founded upon the belief that if a person truly desires to get something done, then there is nothing that can stop it from happening. It is this belief that has propelled us to our current height, and it is this belief that will continue to fuel our passion for Nigeria.
No company has ever brought professional, American teachers to Africa with the sole purpose of training aspiring filmmakers on the rudiment of filmmaking. By bringing the New York Film Academy to Nigeria, we represent the vanguard of the future of Nigerian cinema. We believe that this partnership with NYFA will open up a number of doors to Africa and we intend to explore every one.
If there is any kind of relationship to be gained with the U.S. film industry, if anybody has any interest in investing in or developing films in Nigeria, we want Del-York to be the first port of call.
We understand that there is a very rich culture in Nigeria, that there is a need for those who live outside its shores to be able to understand its culture. Nigerian filmmakers do understand, they understand the intricacies of Nigerian life because they have lived it. We are here to help guide them in how they share this understanding.
As an example, we have begun a campaign geared towards Niger Delta youths, encouraging them to tell their stories with cameras rather than guns. It is our hope and goal to mobilize their energies in the art of filmmaking.
Working with Del-York will allow all interested parties from all walks of life the opportunity to share with the world the beauty of Nigeria, the beauty of Africa and create films that hold fast to an ideological principle that at its core inspires people to be better.
